Join to celebrate our friend Mike with a day of golf for a good cause.
Book Your SpotBUY RAFFLE TICKETSThe Mike Russano Golf Classic is an annual celebration of Mike. A day of golf to honor his legacy, promote cardiomyopathy awareness, and raise funds for his scholarship. Join us again this year to support Michael's family and an incredible cause.
The Mike Russano Scholarship made its debut last year and we were proud to select John Dwyer as the inaugural recipient. John was a dual sport athlete at Northport High School for the baseball and volleyball teams.
Like Mike, John enjoyed learning about business through the Academy of Finance Program and participated in DECA competitions. Furthermore, John was able to sacrifice his strong hairline in order to help others by being a St. Baldrick’s Foundation shavee and raised funds for childhood cancer research.
John is now attending MIT and plans to concentrate in Energy Conversion Engineering. He is continuing his baseball career there and is carrying on Mike’s legacy by showing love and compassion for others on a daily basis. Way to go John and we look forward to selecting this year's recipient from an outstanding class of 2024 at Northport High!
This event would not be possible without the generosity of our Heart, Diamond, and Gold-Level sponsors. Support these businesses who loved Mike.

Michael was known for his beautiful loving smile, genuine sense of humor, and endearing compassion. Michael so loved everyone and everyone loved him.
He was deemed the unofficial Mayor of Northport High School and forged strong bonds with whomever he met. Serving as a friend to confide in, a comedian, prankster, gentleman, teammate, leader, and quite possibly the all-time greatest host of social gatherings to grace the Crab Meadow neighborhood.
On Saturday, May 22, 2021, the morning of his wedding, Michael's life ended tragically due to sudden cardiac arrest due to cardiomyopathy.
Michael is survived by his loving fiancé, Elizabeth Barrett, his adoring parents Richard and Jama Russano, his dear brothers Richard Todd, Peter, and Christopher, and his cherished nieces and nephews Helena, Ariana, Alexander, Daniel, and Dominick, along with extended family members and his countless treasured friends.
